FLIES ARE HATCHING, TROUT ARE ON THE FEED!

Flies are Hatching, Trout are on the Feed!
The shop is on Pine daily and the progression of the season has been a real eye opener. All we've needed to see activity has been about a degree and one-half and trout are more active as well as flies hatching. With the recent brighter, more direct sunlight the water temperature has warmed during the day as much as 5.5 degrees. This increase has had trout moving closer to shore in the middle of the day to take advantage of the warmer water and increased fly activity. Now, with the afternoon water temperatures around 40-42, The trout are taking off the surface as well as below. Many anglers reporting back to the shop have had excellent success. And, the shop has had the same success as it has had all winter. A slight afternoon temperature change, and the fish and insects are on the move. Already Brown Drakes, Hendricksons, Red Quills, Black Stones, Brown Stones, Brown Caddis, BWOs, and Quill Gordons have been spotted. The flies look larger than what has been normal except for last year. Spring and its great fishing has begun, and will only build from here! Come up, give it a try. If you are a beginner, come into the shop and let us help! Whether or not you buy anything, we will be happy to help you figure out where to fish, what to use, and the best way to use it. Ready for another great year? Make sure you have size 10 March Browns, Hendricksons, stones flies, caddis, and you are ready - see the stream conditions tab at the top of the page.
